A Message from Ms. Cimino
As always the safety and security of our students is our number one priority, therefore we ask that you adhere to the following dismissal procedures if applicable. If your child is scheduled to take a bus and you will not be utilizing bus transportation this year we ask that you sign the transportation waiver form by clicking this link. Please remember that if you are coming to pick your child up early we will call your child to the office when you arrive at school. Additionally, your child must be in school until 12:50pm in order for it to count as a full day. We want all of our students to get the maximum amount of instructional time as possible each day.
We are looking forward to a great October with our Book Fair, Week of Respect, Terror in the Halls, District Color Run, Halloween festivities and much more. Please make sure to check our website and to join our school Remind text messages (text @hmpbelieve to the number 81010 to join) in order to get the most up to date information.

Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Fundraiser
On Friday September 29 we held a kick off assembly, and the students received their walk envelopes. With help from a parent, students can register online at kidswalk.jdrf.org. Once registered, students can create a personal fundraising page to share their story and send emails to friends and family members asking for their support.
As students collect donations they can write the name of their donors on the shoes that they received, and bring them to school so we can put them on display!
We encourage children to turn in their donations on the day of the Kids Walk: October 13, 2017. Students will enjoy a healthy, brisk walk and celebrate our success!
The funds collected will be given to JDRF, the leading global organization focused on T1D research. JDRF is the only global organization with a strategic plan to progressively remove the impact of T1D from people's lives until it is no longer a threat to anyone.
Please visit kidswalk.jdrf.org for more information. Thank you for your support of this worthy cause!
Terror in the Halls October 20 and 21
Please remember that this is meant to be a scary attraction and not designed for young children. All children must be accompanied by an adult. This will be another great year of TERROR!
Terror in the Halls Lights on Tour
Do you want to see how our school is amazingly transformed but do not want to be scared? Do you want to see if your youngster can handle the Haunted House?
If so, on October 21 you can come to the school for $2.00 per person to take a tour of the entire haunted house with the lights on and no actors.
A form will be sent home the first week of October, please return the form if you are interested!
District Color Run
Halloween Parade and Parties
The Potter School Halloween Parade will take place on Tuesday October 31, 2017 at 2:15pm. Students will dress in costumes for the parade. Only the two class parents will be allowed into the building on this day. Parents and family members are invited to the playground to view the parade. Face coverings/masks will not be permitted for adults.
Please make sure costumes are safe for students to walk around and easy for them to put on. Children are not to wear their costumes to school. Weapons are not allowed with costumes, please keep them home.
All costumes should be put in a bag clearly marked with the student’s name. Safety of the children is always our number one concern. We ask that you please refrain from signing your child out early on the day of the parade.

Help Support H & M Potter School!
As part of its mission to raise the overall level of financial knowledge in the U.S. for people of all ages, the Jackson Charitable Foundation has partnered with Discovery Education to expand the reach of the Foundation and its “Cha-Ching™ Money Smart Kids” program.
The Cha-Ching Pledge Challenge, which will run September 19 through December and will be hosted at cha-chingusa.org, will encourage teachers and parents to make a pledge to teach kids the basics of personal finance—earning, spending, saving, and donating—ideally with the help of the Cha-Ching program’s videos and other materials. Based on the number of pledges made, a winning school will receive a $10,000 prize and an additional $1,000 to donate to the school’s charity of choice.
Please pledge to teach your child about financial literacy, by visiting the site above. The school with the most pledges will receive $10,000! Once you initially pledge, you can vote for your school once per day!
