Step Up Day
Our Day in 2nd Grade
To kick off our time together first graders got together in teams to play Kahoot. This particular Kahoot was all about second grade. Students had a great time answering the questions and learning more about second grade!
LOVING SECOND GRADE - TAKE A LOOK AT OUR VALENTINE'S DAY CENTERS
First graders were given a challenge: Build the tallest marshmallow tower using toothpicks and marshmallows. There was one catch, the tower had to stand on its own! Everyone had fun and it was great to see how creative these first graders are!
Face off is a fun math game where first graders were able to practice their addition and subtraction skills in second grade.
Sink or Float
In this center, students made predictions and then recorded the results of the sink or float test. We put candy hearts into three liquids, Sprite, water, and vinegar to see if the candy would sink or float. Be sure to ask what happened!
Candy Heart Writing
Students used candy hearts with adjectives on them to help them write a Valentine's Day story.
Second grade is all about reading so during our visit today we got a chance to read some very special books. First graders spent some time reading the second graders published nonfiction books that they wrote earlier in the year. This was a great way for students to see one of the projects they will be doing next year.
