Adult Female Development
Entering the Adult World
Over time, the age at which women get married has been increasing since the 1960s. Despite this, most women still get married and become mothers in their twenties. Juggling a career and motherhood is very common among many women. About 79% of new mothers return to work before their children reach one year of age.
Entering the adult world is a huge transition from the life women had during adolescence. We have just become the most independent we have ever been and we begin to learn how to provide for ourselves. This stage is even more challenging when a woman decides to start a family during this very new, unfamiliar stage in her life.
