Wrangell-St. Elias National Park
Adaptation of animals and plants
Beak design
This bird has a small beak because it eats seeds. It does not need a big beak. It also has a small body structure. So if if has a big beak, then it could not fly.
Appearance
This animal has a brown and white camouflage effect. I helps it blend into the snow and the dirt surrounding it.
Body Covering
This goat has a long white body covering. This helps it not freeze. Wrangell-St. Elias National Park is filled with non-active volcano with a snow covered craters. This means that there are extremely low temperatures. So the Mt. goat has to have long thick white wool to blend in a not freeze.
Claws
The bobcat is a wild cat. They eat Animals that are helpless. They have to have to have claws that can attach to the prey.
Plant structure
This flower has a slim structure. It only grows 1 single flower on each stem. This is because it has a small stem so the weight of the flower would crush itself.
Hibernation
Bears have to hibernate because they can't stand the harsh winter weather. Hibernating is the action of sleeping through the winter. The bears don't necessarily sleep as much and they move and hide and collect.
Performance noise from a Prairie Dogs
The way that the Prairie Dog attracts mates is by whistle.
Other: Migration
Ten million swans, geese, and ducks nest in Alaska each year. This is ten times the population of Montana.
