Arrival & Departure Routines:
In order to promote student responsibility and independence, starting tomorrow, August 21st, parents will only be allowed to visit the classroom in the mornings if there is an appointment with the classroom teacher. For parent and student safety, visitors/parents are always required to check-in at the front office. We appreciate your help in ensuring our campus is safe for all.
Bee Cave is a family friendly community school where safety is our first priority. Knowing that you model safe, respectful behavior for our children, we appreciate you establishing a positive tone to our mornings and afternoons. Please see attached map below for drop-off and pick-up locations.
All transportation changes should be made prior to 1:00 each day. This ensures the front office is able to deliver changes to the classroom teacher prior to the end of the day, and allows for an efficient and safe dismissal.
Thank you for your help!
Reporting an Absence:
Consistent school attendance is critical for the development of your child. When they miss school, we miss them! The entire school day is needed to deliver the full instructional program. Students need to come to school and attend the full day unless they have fever, communicable disease, or family emergency. Help us communicate the importance of daily attendance to your child and schedule necessary appointments around school hours. When an absence is necessary, e-mail the registrar, Pam Anderson at myliusandersonp@ltisdschools.org if your child will not be in school that day. A note explaining any absence is required upon the student’s return to school.
Communicating with the School:
Communication is a top priority for the BCE community. For classroom concerns, please begin by speaking directly to the teacher. Teachers have limited phone and email access while they are with your child. Our standard response time is within 24 hours. If a concern requires immediate attention from a campus administrator, contact assistant principal, Michaele Pansza at panszam@ltisdschools.org or counselor Courtney Trimmer at trimmerc@ltisdschools.org. When scheduling a meeting with the principal, contact administrative assistant, Susan Hart, at harts@ltisdschools.org.
Medication with the Nurse:
Nurse Hicks is our full time nurse at BCE! She will assist you in keeping your child’s medication locked and stored in the nurse’s office. Refer to the Student Handbook for specific information on medications at school.
Food Allergies:
Please note that listing a food allergy or intolerance on the classroom snack permission form is not sufficient communication for Food and Nutrition Services (FANS). The following steps must be taken to ensure your child's safety in the cafeteria serving line:
- If your student has any food allergies or diet restrictions, parents must turn in the required allergy form, signed by approved medical professional, to the campus nurse.
- The nurse will then distribute to all school staff that need to know of the condition, including Food and Nutrition Staff.
- If the food allergy is life-threatening (requires an EpiPen), then this form must be filled out every year and turned in to the nurse, along with the medication prescribed by the physician.
- If your student has some resolved allergies, less precautions or restrictions than in years past, please provide this information in written form to the nurse (email is sufficient). The nurse will then communicate that information to necessary staff, including Food and Nutrition Services. Click HERE for more information on how the special diet accommodation process works.
Last Chance for Parent Pickup Passes:
If you need to pick up children after school periodically in the gym, please register TODAY for a Parent Pickup Pass at www.beecaveparentpickup.com. Passes will be available from Leanne Hamilton in the school office starting Tuesday, August 29th. If you have questions, please email Kendra Wright at kwrightaustin@gmail.com.
