Highlights from last week!
Last week we continued exploring different strategies for representing multiplication, and looked at a problem-solving framework to help us get through those tricky two-step problems! We first understand what the problem is asking, make a plan about what to do, choose a strategy to solve, and communicate our answer. These steps have helped us slow down in our thinking, and realize that often it is about the journey in math and not the destination!
In writing we chose a topic for our research writing, and are beginning to develop "thick" questions that will help guide our writing. The students are learning about and teaching each other so much!
We got to play in the snow early on Friday morning, which was a rare treat! Then, Blake's mom was our Mystery Reader! She read Chris Van Allsburg's The Polar Express, as well as Corduroy to our class!
Snow in San Antonio!
Why, yes, we do!
