Beverly Elementary Fifth Grade
Collin County Adventure Camp
What is COllin COunty Adventure Camp?
Students that do not attend Collin County Adventure Camp will still be required to attend school as normal and will have a specialized curriculum planned for them.
Beverly Elementary Fifth Grade will be attending camp Wednesday, September 20 through Friday, September 22, 2023.
We kindly ask that if you are choosing to not send your child to camp with the fifth grade classes, PLEASE communicate this information with Mrs. Garcia as soon as possible.
You can watch an overview video for detailed information about CCAC.
Mandatory Forms for Participation
Required Forms:
- Student Medical Release (4 pages - must be completed and notarized)
- PISD Student Code of Conduct (signed by both student and parent)
- Confidential Information (optional)
Medications
There will be a Plano ISD nurse or first responder on site 24 hours a day to dispense medications and handle minor accidents or illnesses. However, if your child should need emergency medical care during the camp session, he/she will be taken to Care Now or the hospital in McKinney.
Prescription medication must be in its original, labeled container bearing your child’s and doctor’s name. The written prescription will be followed. Send the box with the label attached if necessary. Please do not send vitamins. They cannot be given by our nurse. The Orange Medication Card and meds should be placed in a gallon Ziploc bag and turned in to your child’s school nurse by Wednesday, September 6, 2023.
Camp Cost
PLEASE do not let cost be a factor that determines whether or not your child will be able to participate in CCAC. If there is financial assistance needed, please let Mrs. Garcia know as soon as you can.
Detailed instructions are linked below. Parents may now pay in installments (with a minimum of $10 each payment)) until full payment is received.
If you would rather pay by check, please make the check payable to the Beverly Elementary Student Activity Fund.

What to Bring to camp
Please refer to the Camp Packing List for packing hints and monitor the packing process so that your child does not end up at camp without adequate clothing. LABEL EVERYTHING!
Spending money will be needed only if the student wants to buy anything from the camp store. Students will have an opportunity both Wednesday and Thursday to shop at the Camp Store. Sending a student with excessive amounts of money is not recommended.
Meals and Menus
There are vegetarian options offered at each meal, and a menu is provided for you to view below. Students will be given a printed menu prior to departing to camp in case there needs to be a discussion at home about planning for meals.
- Cycle 1 Menu - for September 20-22, 2023
Transportation
We also ask that families make prior arrangements as to how their child will go home on Friday, as they will have all of their luggage and bedding with them.

Parent Chaperones
- Please go to the PISD Volunteer website to ensure that you have had your background check completed no earlier than July 10, 2023. There needs to be one completed academic school each year.
- Complete the Chaperone Candidate Form to indicate you are interested in volunteering as a camp chaperone.
- Please thoroughly read the Parent Chaperone Agreement, then sign and return the bottom of the last page to Mrs. Garcia.
Both of these must be done before the due date stated above to be considered. The names of the applicants will have their name placed into the lottery drawing and will be notified no later than Thursday, September 7, 2023 so that any work schedules can be cleared for our time away. If your name is not drawn in the lottery, we will place your name on a "reserve" list in the case that an emergency arises and a chaperone is not able to attend.
Parents, please know that there is no fee due for your attendance at camp as a chaperone.
Prior to departure, Parent Chaperones are required to attend a mandatory chaperone meeting to discuss student needs, cabin groups, and other important information. This meeting will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at 6:30 p.m. in the fifth grade hallway.
