Student Drop Off / Pick Up Procedures

Morning Drop Off: Students can begin being dropped off at LVMS at 8:00 AM. Students must enter the building at the side door by the North Gym and report directly there where they will remain until 8:30 AM. Unless participating in a club or have a pass from a teacher to be elsewhere, students will not be permitted to go anywhere else in the building.

Morning Drop Off (clubs/activities): If a student is participating in a AM Club or Activity, they arrive at LVMS at 7:45 AM. Students MUST arrive at the main entrance and will not be permitted to enter the building prior to 7:45 AM. Students are only permitted to be at whichever club / activity they have signed up for and are not permitted into other areas of the building.

Afternoon Pick Up (leaving school early / not taking bus after school): If a student is leaving early, whether it be earlier in the day or at the end of day, parents should write a note indicating time of pickup. Students MUST submit this note to their teacher during AM Homeroom. Students who are not taking the bus and being picked up at regular dismissal, will report to the Band Room (Room 43) to wait. They will be dismissed by a teacher after the buses leave. Parents should not enter the staff parking lot or the bus lane during PM Pick Up. Students will not be permitted to cross through the bus lane at any point. All vehicles must go up the driveway to the gravel lot and wait for buses to exit the bus lane before moving into driveway that loops in front of the building.

Afternoon Walkers: If a student is not taking the bus, but will be walking elsewhere after school, students MUST submit a signed note by parents during Homeroom. Students will not be permitted to leave the school property after school if a written, signed note is not provided. We DO NOT accept phone calls or emails for walking requests.

Health and Safety

The district has moved to following the CDC's 2/22/22 Recommendations. For additional information, please see Dr. Turnamian's 3/4/22 Community Update.

COVID Activity Index Level (CALI): As of 4/9/2022 the district received notification that our region’s CALI score remains Moderate (YELLOW).

Contact Tracing: As of 2/28/22 CDC Guidance, the district will not require contact tracing when transmission rates remain low to moderate. The district will monitor current transmission rates with the guidance of our district medical professionals and local Health Department, and not conduct contact tracing unless circumstances change. Please be aware, if community transmission rates begin to rise, the district will consider restoring former mitigation protocols.

Testing Positive for COVID-19: If a student tests positive for COVID-19 he/she still needs to isolate for 5 days and it is recommended he/she wear a mask for days 6-10. Most importantly, if a student is sick (COVID related or not) please keep him/her home from school.

Close Contact / Quarantine: If an individual is identified as a close contact due to out of school activity or family contact and has not had a primary series of vaccination, it is recommended he/she quarantine for 5 days and wear a mask for days 6-10.

Daily District COVID-19 Communications: Effective 2/8/22 the district will no longer send out daily communications of newly reported COVID-19 cases from each school. This information will continued to be tracked and updated daily to the Information Hub on the main page of our district website.

Please consult Washington Township's NJDOH COVID-19 Resources as needed.
