Pearson families
We have had a wonderful year at Pearson this year. All of our students have made amazing strides and we couldn't have done it without your help. If your student is moving on to Kindergarten next year, we wish you the best of luck. If your student is returning, we hope you have a nice summer and enjoy the time at home with family and friends.
Your students are very precious to us and we love getting to be the first step in your child's education. On behalf of the staff, we want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for sharing them with us.
Sincerely,
Jen Haugh

Kindergarten Information
Dear Parent/Guardian:
It has been a pleasure to have your student in the prekindergarten program this year. The time has arrived to make plans for the next school year.
If you would like to request a transfer to a different school, please visit www.pisd.edu/pisdtransfer for more information on how to complete a transfer request.
If your student will not be returning to Plano ISD for the 2022-2023 school year, please contact your current campus secretary to inform them of your intent to not return next school year.
If your child receives Special Education services, programming will be developed for the Kindergarten services based on your child’s Individualized Education Program (IEP) in an Admission Review and Dismissal (ARD) meeting.
Since your child is already enrolled in Plano ISD, there is no enrollment action for kindergarten required at this time. In July, you will receive more information about Meet the Teacher and completing annual forms from your kindergarten campus.
If you have any questions, please contact your child’s teacher or call (469-752-4300).
Thank you,
Jen Haugh
Principal

Federal Waiver for Free Meals Set to Expire
The following information is being shared via the Plano ISD website, and will be shared with staff and families in Thursday’s update. Principals are asked to please help spread the word so that families are prepared to resume paying for meals next year, or to fill out the free and reduced meal application for next year, which will be available after July 1.
The United States Department of Agriculture waiver that allowed Plano ISD to provide free meals to all students during the 2021-22 school year is set to expire at the end of this school year. Plano ISD will resume charging for meals during the 2022-23 school year based on student eligibility for meal benefits. Families who may qualify are encouraged to complete a federal meal application for free and reduced-price meals. The 2021-22 meal application will be honored for the first 30 days of the 2022-23 school year. The 2022-23 meal application will be available after July 1, 2022. Read more.
