THE HATTER UPDATE (May 6, 2022)
THE COMMUNICATION FORUM FOR HIGH SCHOOL FAMILIES
CELEBRATING HERITAGE
The month of May is the opportunity to celebrate two distinct aspects of our student population and the families that make up the HHHS school community. Nationally, both Asian American Pacific Islander and Jewish American Heritage Month are celebrated in May. Throughout the month we will be highlighting the amazing accomplishments and contributions made by people that have impacted history, culture and society.
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY WEEKEND TO MOMS EVERYWHERE!
WINDING DOWN
The 2021-2022 academic year is slowly coming to a close and pretty soon and we have officially reached the month of MAY! As mentioned, things at the high school level will get a little hectic with annual spring events, end of year celebration, proms, standardized tests, the push towards graduation, and the end of a semester. This newsletter is the best forum for you to stay on top of upcoming events at the high school over the final few weeks.
WGI WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
Congratulations to the Hatters Indoor Percussion Ensemble! The team traveled to Dayton, Ohio for the World Championships. With the best finishing performance in school history, the team brought home the Bronze medal. The ensemble competed against groups from all over the United States. They had an amazing performance. Congratulations to every member of the ensemble for all their hard work this year. Way to go Hatters!
2022 SENIOR PROM
We celebrated a great Junior Prom event last Friday night! Now, it's time to send our seniors off with a bang as well. Senior Prom tickets are currently on sale through May 16th. The senior prom is June 3rd at Talamore Country Club. Information regarding ticket purchase can be found on the Senior Prom Committee webpage - https://www.hatboro-horsham.org/Domain/607.
We are also looking forward to the Post prom event from 11:30 pm - 5:00 am following the prom. This year all seniors and their guests are invited to attend for free. It's a great event designed to keep students safe, engaged and a night to share with their friends for the last time in high school. They also have an opportunity at $10,000 in prizes! and giveaways.
SENIOR FAMILIES
You received an email on Thursday afternoon that included important information regarding the last six weeks of the school year for your future graduate. Please be sure to review that document, as there are some time sensitive events that require your attention. You can also find it here - https://www.hatboro-horsham.org/Domain/611
*Change of Date - the Athletic Signing event has been moved from May 5th to May 12th to avoid conflicts with AP testing. The event will still occur at Steinly Stadium.*
CALENDAR ADJUSTMENT
Tow weeks ago, the district made some adjustments to the end of year calendar. The impact of that change at the high school means that the last student day for underclassmen is June 16th as opposed to the 17th as originally planned. Underclass exams will take place on June 15th & 16th. The Class of 2022 graduation ceremony has not been impacted by the district calendar revisions and will still occur on June 13th. Senior exams will take place June 7th, 8th & 9th. The last day for EASTERN students in 11th grade will be June 13th.
ADVANCED PLACEMENT EXAMS
This year we are administering 468 AP exams to 283 students. The AP exam window lasts from May 2 - May 13. There are two sessions of exams 8:00-11:00 AM and 12:00-3:00 PM. AP students have already received information regarding their testing date, time and location. They have also received the AP Attendance Privilege document, it must be returned by April 29th, if they wish to take advantage of that privilege.
KEYSTONE EXAMS
Spring Keystone Exams will take place from May 16-May 23. Students who are taking the exams have been notified and will continue to receive reminders of their exams and dates. On all six (6) exam days, students who are testing should report to school regular time. Normal transportation will be available and students should not be late to school or they may miss their exam. Students who are NOT testing should follow a 2-hour delay schedule. Transportation will be available both to and from school on all days. Please refer to the attachment below for testing days. It is also important to remember that the Keystone Exams certainly hold more weight now, than they have previously for any students in the Class of 2023 and beyond. Refer to the Act 158 Parent Night held back in February. - https://www.hatboro-horsham.org/Domain/859
***If you are an EASTERN student and taking Keystone Exams, please review the document below***
***Students who are taking keystone exams have received multiple emails and reminders, and should continue to check their inbox regularly for dates and room assignments***
