Brock Intermediates First Yearbook
This year, Brock Intermediate will have its own yearbook! If you would like to help us fill up our pages with pictures of Brock Intermediate students, please download the app and upload your photos. All photos need to be school appropriate and school related. For example, group photos of students participating in sports, cheer or at a livestock show would be appreciated.
Spring Attendance
District Spring Attendance Guidelines:
Beginning January 6, 2021, our attendance will be taken according to the way it was prior to COVID-19. If your child is absent from face-to-face learning due to sickness, death, or another extenuating circumstance, please send a note to school regarding the absence. Your child is welcome to log in and participate in online learning but will not be counted present for the day. After this semester, the gold sheet used at the high school will no longer be utilized.
If your child is absent and they are unable to participate in online learning, they will have one day per absence to make up any missed work.
Just a reminder for remote learners in grades 6-12, attendance will be taken as follows:
Intermediate (6th Graders) - Follow their 2nd-7th period core class schedule Synchronously and attendance for those periods will be taken by Google Meets at the beginning of the period daily.
Junior High (7th & 8th Graders) - Follow their 2nd - 6th-period core class schedule Synchronously and attendance for those periods will be taken by Google Meets at the beginning of the period daily.
High School (8th - 12th Graders) - Follow their class schedule and attendance will be taken by Google Meets at the first of each period. Online college classes will not be expected to login for BHS attendance purposes.
Tutoring, Enrichment, and Extension Opportunities
It is hard to believe that the first semester is behind us. Although this first semester was different than any other we have ever experienced, it was still a great one! This semester our teachers worked really hard to get to know our students personally and academically. During that time, we worked to identify our students' academic strengths and weaknesses.
Within the next few weeks, you might receive a letter or email requesting for your child to come in at 7:35 for "tutoring". Our plan is to invite students for some additional small group time with their teachers to help close some gaps and/or extend their learning.
Additionally, any student that is here by 7:35 is brought into the classroom at that time for enrichment or extension until the official school day starts at 7:55. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Ranae Lane, Principal

Lunch Delivery Info
A change that is new this school year to our campus is that we have opted to receive federal funds to off-set costs associated with free and reduced student meals. Because we receive federal funds, federal law associated with this funding prohibits outside food deliveries. While deliveries may not be allowed, parents can still order and personally deliver lunches to their specific child at our campus.
Brock Junior High and Brock High do not receive federal funding currently and will continue partnerships with local restaurants in the Brock community. BISD aims to support local businesses and will not accept deliveries from restaurants outside of Brock. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Who Has A Heart for Brock?
Brock ISD announces the BISD Heartbeat Award! Take a few minutes to nominate BISD teachers and staff who display heart as they go above and beyond their job description, inspiring others through their extraordinary work ethic and giving it their all each and every day.
BISD Heartbeat Awards will be announced monthly throughout the school year, and nominations can be submitted by students, staff, parents and the Brock community.
Dismissal
School Dismissal and Car Tags
You can download the app for quick and easy dismissal changes.
You should have received a car tag with your child's last name and a number for our new school dismissal program.
Drop Off, Start Time, & Dismissal Time
Enrichment Time 7:25-7:55
School Starts at 7:55
Dismissal Begins at 3:25
Please remember that it is best to drop students off after 7:15 when we have staff on duty. Dropping off before 7:15 could present a safety concern for our students due to no supervision until that time.
Progress Reports and Report Card Dates
This year progress reports and report cards will not be sent home physically. You will be able to view your child's progress reports and report cards in the parent portal. Please let us know if you have any questions or need assistance.
Progress reports will be available at the end of the day Monday in Parent Portal.
