The Hungate Echo
Sherburn Hungate Weekly News - Issue 1
A word from Mr Broom
While we've all been away, we've had quite a lot of work done at school. The external works to the new outdoor early years area is almost complete (just waiting on our canopy) and every classroom has been fitted with the latest multi-touch screen interactive TV, replacing the very dated projectors. They look sensational and it didn't take the staff long to start to get to grips with delivering high-quality learning with them.
Finally, it's been lovely to see so many incredibly smart-looking children and I must say that uniform has been excellent this week. Let's keep this up. If we look smart, we learn smart.
Have a lovely weekend ahead.
Wear Blue Monday
It's not fancy dress but something like Jeans and a blue top would be fine.
Hopefully, it's going to really add to the 'big bang' and drive our projects forward.

Friends of Hungate - A Call for Support
A message from the Friends of Hungate:
'Our PTA depends on a continual cycle of parental involvement. The teachers and staff, together with Mr Broom, support us when possible, but without all your support, we have no PTA - WE REALLY DO NEED YOUR SUPPORT.
The PTA is a mixture of parents that work together for the benefit of Hungate. Some are full-time parents, some work part-time or work full-time. NONE of us are specialists in fundraising. We do what we can.
As schools are becoming more and more dependent on PTAs for funds, it’s important that we keep the Friends of Hungate running. In order to do this, we are in need of new committee members including a Chair, Treasurer and Secretary.
If you would like to know more about what the Friends do, or would like to be more involved with the committee, (you don’t have to take on a key role!) please come along to our AGM on Monday. at 6:15pm in school.
Your support really matters.'

Support for Sherburn High School
Sherburn High School is looking to refurbish and expand current sports facilities on their site for both schools use and the wider community use. We are trying to get as many parents and local residents to complete a survey and we would very much appreciate your time in helping us to understand what the Sports Facilities needs are in school and the local area and your views on the current facilities we provide.
