Mrs.Myers' Weekly Newsletter

Note from Mrs.Myers

Hello, everyone!

Thank you for your patience with the newsletter. A close family member of mine was unexpectedly hospitalized yesterday, but we hope that she is on her way to recovery. I appreciate everyone's well wishes and prayers! You guys are amazing!

Speaking of amazing: that's also a great word to describe your kiddos! This week we are knocking out many of the remaining grades for the year. By the end of this week, aside from DA's, students will have completed the remaining grades in science, social studies, reading, and math. That leaves only a few grades left in word work, and only one in writing. They have been working incredibly hard and I'm unbelievably excited to see the pay-off for all of their hard work. This push to get the grades finished is absolutely by design! We have a lot of exciting things coming up for the rest of the year and a lot of testing interruptions in our schedule, so the sooner we can have everything squared away for the year, the better. Please make sure that the students are reviewing this week for math, science, and social studies. Their graded cumulative assignments are this week, but it shouldn't be too strenuous since they just covered all of this in-depth for Milestones!

I also wanted to say thank you to everyone who brought in a gift yesterday for teacher appreciation! You guys always go above and beyond and I'm humbled by your generosity. I count myself lucky to be your kids' teachers, and just as lucky to have such a supportive group of parents! :)

Also, our class outing is this Saturday, May 7th! More information is below regarding the trip to Stone Mountain! Please read carefully and respond accordingly! :)

Thank you so much for everything you do! We are almost there! 16 more school wake-ups until summer! :)

This Saturday is our class and family trip to Stone Mountain! I will be there by about 9:30 to make sure that we get a big enough spot on the lawn for the laser show that night, but you are free to show up whenever you choose! Please make sure that if you are planning on staying for the laser show to bring a blanket or chairs. A second newsletter with an RSVP option will be sent today related to the Stone Mountain event! :)
