HORIZON MEDIA CENTER MISSION STATEMENT

The Horizon Media Center empowers students to be enthusiastic readers, critical thinkers, skillful researchers, and ethical users of information.

Our Stories - Olson

While researching their heritage in the media center, Ms.Olson's 6th graders learned how to access, evaluate, and manage print and online resources. After developing questions about their diverse cultures, students searched for answers within print and online resources (including print books, eBooks, district databases, and web sites). Students evaluated all web sites with the Web Site Evaluation form (previously used in Mr. Wright's class). They also safely created Works Cited pages using NoodleTools.

Board Game Days - Wright

All 6th graders will play board games in the media center right before winter break. Students are invited to play games in the media center before and after school and during home base. Teachers are encouraged to check out games for their classes. Let the games begin!
