  3. sparing use of proteins for energy
  4. dietary fiber
  5. breakdown of fatty acids and preventing ketosis


Structure-Function Relationship

The hexagonal shape of the carbohydrate allows for the easy storage of sugars.


Their size often times not soluble in water.
