Best Buddies
Best Buddies is an international organization that is changing the world for people with special needs. The Best Buddies mission is to fight for advocacy and inclusion by creating friendship and leadership opportunities for kids just like us. There are over 200 million people in the world that have some sort of intellectual and/or developmental disability. Students with these disabilities often don't have the same social opportunities as most kids their age, but still, have lots in common with them. Best Buddies forms one to one friendships among students with similar interests. You spend time together inside and outside of the school environment doing things you both enjoy. The goal of Best Buddies is to form friendships, so in efforts to make that happen we will have at least 4 chapter events a year and do all sorts of fun activities together to form bonds. When you join Best Buddies you are not only making a commitment of friendship to another person but you are also helping to take strides to make a more inclusive community for people with differences. By getting involved in our Thomas chapter you are making an impact on not only someone else's life to but also in your own life.
