A Message from the Leadership Team
Adult Education
Thanksgiving is a time for family and friends and of reflection and appreciation. The Adult Education community of students, teachers, and staff is a family of sorts; a committed group of likeminded individuals working toward improving the opportunities for our students and bettering the community in which we live and work. We appreciate the efforts of teachers who plan, prepare and produce great lessons; for the efforts of our staff who ensure that our sites operate to the benefit of our students with all the hard “behind-the-scenes” work; and for our dedicated students who challenge themselves every day and refuse to let obstacles get in their way of learning. We wish you all a happy Thanksgiving.
Community Education
Winter 1 & 2 Course Schedule will be out in a few weeks. Remember to pick up your copy and copies for your students in your Fall 2 classes.
Policy Reminder:
If a student chooses to cancel their registration prior to the start of class, there is a $10 cancellation fee. Prior vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of issuance. Please contact the office at (239) 377-1234 with any/refund withdraw requests. Once the class begins there are no refunds or vouchers. However, a student may transfer to another class or session. Refunds are not issued for missed classes and classes are not pro-rated if you sign up after a class has started.
Loraine is retiring after a number of years with Community Education. Her last day will be December 21. Keep an eye out for an invite to a celebration gathering.

COMMUNITY RESOURCES FROM BARBARA BELKOFF
Community organizations are a great place to find helpful resources, places that can help us with sometimes difficult situations. Community organizations depend on volunteers to help provide those resources. ONE of the very real ways to become part of a community is to become a volunteer within that community. You interact, speak and assist those living in your own backyard. Volunteering is a great way to practice our skills and also can be a great way to look for future employment.
So on a weekly basis I will share volunteer opportunities in Collier County.
HARRY CHAPIN FOOD BANK
Help HCFB prepare donations to be distributed! This is a huge distribution center of food donations for families of SWFL Come and Pre-sort, inspect and pack food items and other nonfood packages. Volunteering for the Harry Chapin Food Bank is not complicated, but it can be strenuous. It requires bending, lifting, and standing for a three hour shift.
Interested? Or join with a friend or a small group. There’s plenty of work to do.
Call the Naples office at 239-334-7007.
