Worldwide Poverty and Human Rights

by Litzy Perez

Summary

Across the world, 925 million people are undernourished. One billion people live in slums. Everyone should have the right to do what they have to do to survive, if it doesn't involve violence. Many people are still not able to access food, water, education, and health care, most of these problems have to do with discrimination of the government. In an article on www.amnestyusa.org "...there are many more prisoners of poverty than prisoners of conscience..."

Human Rights Violations

The Human Rights that are being violated are 'Don't Discriminate', 'The Right to Education', and 'Food and Shelter for All'. Everyone should have the right to have food, shelter, free education, and shouldn't be discriminated; everyone should have the right to feel safe, do what they have to do to survive, and lastly not be discriminated but helped. In current years Amnesty International has helped those in need and safety.
