Starbucks

Connection to Greek Mythology

What is the story behind the Starbucks logo?

The logo belonging to Starbucks is known to be a Siren. A Siren is a two tailed mermaid, it is known for luring sailors with seductive singing. Their songs are to lead the sailors to their death by making them crash into rocks.

Why is the logo a Siren?

It is said that she is a, "storyteller, carrying the lore of Starbucks ahead, and remembering our past...she’s a muse –always there, inspiring us and pushing us ahead." Some say that the taste of the over priced coffee "lures" people right on in. Exactly like the Sirens lured the sailors to their death.

Is This Viable or Not?

The connection of the logo to the Siren is somewhat viable. The taste of the coffee seems to lure people, but not to their impending death. Everyone knows when they see the Starbucks they are promised good quality coffee, death is not involved in the deal. Honestly the only viable connection would be the lure to the good tasting coffee just not death, that’s how I personally look at the situation.
