5th Grade Send Off Pictures

5th grade families--Thank you for showing up for our special 5th grade send off on Thursday. If you attended, your child's picture will be sent to them through their school email account. Good luck next year!

Leftover Student Distribution Bags

Every student had a bag. If you did not pick your child's bag up this past week or you have items to return, please email mary.lawrence@moundsviewschools.org to schedule a day/time to pick up and/or drop off.

Report Cards

Report cards are now available in ParentVue for your viewing. Per Ms. Samec's message last month, students will receive a grade for first semester (1--beginning, 2--developing, 3--secure) for first semester. For second semester, they will receive a score of "S" for satisfactory due to distance learning interruptions. For their final grade, they will receive a score of "S" for satisfactory to indicate they are moving on to the next grade level to continue their learning. If you have questions or trouble viewing the report card, please call the front office at 651-621-7800.

Summer School

Summer school will be in the "distance learning" format this year because of the covid19 pandemic. It will run July 6-30, Monday through Thursday from 8:45 - 12:45 am.

Summer school will be a combination of live morning meetings and small group instruction with a teacher and as well as some independent practice at home. Students who qualify for summer school were invited last week via email to parents. If you did not receive and email and are wondering if your child qualifies or have questions about it, please call Aldo Cantellano at (651) 621-7815 or email aldo.cantellano@moundsviewschools.org

Summer Meal Update

Mounds View Public School's curbside and bus route meal distribution program will end after Thursday, June 4, 2020.

We understand that this may present hardship for some families. Please see the following resources below for those in need:

  • The Ralph Reeder Food Shelf is ready to help families in need of food. You can learn more here or call 651-621-6280.

  • Visit your county’s website for information on accessing food resources.

  • Call the Minnesota Food Help Line at 888-711-1151 to connect to programs that can increase your food budget such as SNAP, WIC or other food resources. Interpreters are available.

Have You Moved or Planning to Move?

If you have recently moved or are planning to move this summer, please let us know your new address. Since we are closed to open enrollment, if you move out of the district you will need to enroll in your new district. The new school will contact us for your child's records. If you have any questions, please contact mary.lawrence@moundsviewschools.org.

Yearbook Update

Lifetouch is still working on printing out this year's yearbooks. Their yearbook plants are open and printing, but may be running on a reduced staff to adhere to social distancing mandates necessitated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

We apologize for the delay. We will notify families as soon as they arrive. Thank you for your patience.

Back to School Items

Here are few answers on some common asked questions about back to school:

  • Free & Reduced Applications: this must be applied for each year and is available on-line starting August 1.
  • Back to School Packet: this will be mailed out in early August & include the school supply list. The supply list will also be on our website later in June.
  • Transportation: forms were mailed out a few weeks ago for next year. If changes need to be made or a fee needs to be paid, you can bring these to school next week or drop it in the mail.

Lost & Found Still Available

Here is a video of what is left in lost & found. If you see an item that belongs to you, please contact mary.lawrence@moundsviewschools.org or debra.diederich@moundsviewschools.org.

We will be bagging and donating items after June 8.

StarLab Campaign

The Mounds View Schools Education Foundation (MVSEF) is raising funds for a new StarLab and has issued a challenge to all elementary school families. The “High Five” Challenge goes like this: Dedicate a $5 donation to a teacher, and we’ll send the teacher an “In-STAR-gram” on your behalf. Please add the teacher’s name in the “Additional Comments” box when making your donation online at mvsef.org/donate and THANK YOU.

We will also be sharing the challenge on our Facebook page, so if you follow our page

https://www.facebook.com/MVSEF/ you can share to your page as well!
