Our PTA continues to do great things for our GRS Community and for that we thank them. Please check out the PTA opportunities in this Blast.
The third and final term has begun and the teachers work hard to complete the second term progress reports. Progress reports will be viewable next week on Wednesday. If you are unsure how to log in to ParentVue please contact us in the office so that we may help.

This event was created to help raise money for 5th grade yard signs, t-shirts, and end of the year celebration. This event is open to the entire school and we greatly appreciate your support.

5th Annual Sodexo Future Chef Competition
We’re excited to announce the 5th Annual Sodexo Future Chef Competition! The culinary competition is open to all District 47 4th and 5th grade students. The goal of the competition is to help educate kids about healthy eating habits. This year’s culinary contest theme is HEALTHY COMFORT FOOD. To enter, interested 4th/5th graders should submit a recipe to foodservice@d47.org by April 2, 2021. Visit the District 47 website for more information.

Nos complace anunciar el 5º Concurso Anual de Futuros Chefs de Sodexo. La competencia culinaria está abierta a todos los estudiantes de 4º y 5º grado del Distrito 47. El objetivo de la competencia es ayudar a educar a los niños sobre los hábitos alimenticios saludables. El tema del concurso culinario de este año es COMIDA SANA Y CONFORTANTE. Reading Rodeo Incentive ENDS TODAYS - Please submit entries ASAP
Howdy, Pardners! Our Reading Rodeo Incentive is ending. Be sure to submit one form EVERY TIME you complete a reading activity for a participation prize or a chance to win other prizes! Reading activities include attending Glacier Ridge Reads, posting a photo of your child reading and dressed for a spirit day, reading 100 minutes, attending Harry Potter Club, and MORE! 2021 Glacier Ridge Elementary Alumni Scholarship
Purpose: To provide educational scholarships for high school seniors who attended Glacier Ridge Elementary School.
Sponsor: Glacier Ridge Elementary PTA
Eligibility Criteria: Applicant must be eligible to graduate from Crystal Lake School District #155 with a minimum academic grade point average of 3.0 (B) and have attended
Glacier Ridge Elementary School at least one full academic school year.
Selection Criteria: Consideration will be given for academic as well as other achievements, leadership activities, and extra-curricular involvement.
Award Amount: $1,000. Monies can be used toward any ongoing educational experience, including, but not limited to: college, junior college, or technical school, and apprenticeship fees, books and materials, travel, and room and board associated with ongoing education.
Duration of Award: Non-renewable

Picture Re-Takes - Please note the change for remote students
Picture re-take day will be held March 12th. In person students who were not present on picture day will have their photo taken between 10am-Noon.
Students who are remote learning and were unable to attend the February 5th session will also need to come during the 10am-noon time slot. Please contact the office to make coordinate. To ensure proper social distancing we cannot accept walk-ins, you must make prior arrangements.
Color Portraits has a pre-pay on-line ordering option available by clicking here. Students requesting a picture retake will turn in their picture package at the retake. A few weeks after retakes you will receive the same package with their retake image.
