Hornets Weekly Update
Educating and Preparing for Success! 9/20/19
Week#5
This has definitely been a FULL week!! I appreciate your input with Collective Commitments on Tuesday during the faculty meeting! The Building Leadership Team will be posting those in the work room. Thank you for continuing to use ICU and making sure to work with students during Seminar to improve their grades!! Here are some reminders for next week:
-Josh had a successful surgery on Tuesday and is hoping to return to school next Tuesday. We look forward to having him back in the building.
- Pat Kelley has been doing an awesome job stepping in to help Ryan and I with the daily situations that have come up. Please continue to include Pat, Ryan, Shantell, Lacey, Sarah and me in the emails with student concerns. If it is an actual office referral, please specify that in your email to us "REFERRAL." We will be referring to the Parent Contact Log, so please be sure that is updated.
-Please continue to use the Problem Solving electronic referral form. Our Problem Solving Team met today and we were able to proceed with 3 new referrals. We sent feedback to those that referred the students so that you were aware the next steps with these students.
-We conducted the Drug Dog search differently, so I will send out our updated Drug Dog protocol soon.
-Thank you to those that were able to attend the session for the superintendent search (characteristics you'd like to see in the next Fulton Superintendent) with Andy Bonderer and Leah Baker yesterday. If you were unable to attend the meeting and want to share your opinion, please email Andy Bonderer and Leah Baker characteristics you'd like to see in the next Fulton Superintendent.
-Next week is Homecoming, please join in the school spirit!! The students feed off of our energy! Some specifics are listed below.
Remember that YOU ARE APPRECIATED!!!

PD Plans
-Here is the data for the 2 Building Level Smart Goals we came up with during our PD day:
Building Smart Goal LAST YEAR 2018-19:
The percentage of Fulton High School courses passed by students will increase from 96% as measured in May 2018 to 97% by May 2019 as indicated by final course grades. (2018-19).
#1 Building Smart Goal THIS YEAR 2019-20:
The percentage of Fulton High School courses passed by students will increase from 96% as measured in May 2019 to 97% by May 2020 as indicated by final course grades. (2019-20).
#2 Building Smart Goal THIS YEAR 2019-20:
The percentage of Fulton High School students having 90% attendance 90% of the time will increase from 76% as measured in May 2019 to 81% by May 2020 as indicated by the 90% by 90% attendance report.
Attendance 90% by 90% was not a Building Smart Goal last year, but the ending percentage of students having 90% by 90% during the 2017-18 academic year was 72%. The percentage increased by 4% 2019-20 to 76%.
Last year we implemented the 90% attendance in order to participate in school sponsored activities including dances. We will continue to visit other interventions that will continue to help us increase the 90% by 90%.
