An MSD Family Communication that Cuts out the Clutter!

December 30th, 2021

Greetings, Medford School District Families!

We hope you had a nice holiday with your loved ones. The snow sure was beautiful! A few updates below and we look forward to serving your most precious resource (your kids!) in 2022.

Main Thing 1 - School Calendar

We know getting the school year calendar early is important for your planning purposes. The 2022-2023 school calendar was adopted by our Board of Directors at their last meeting of 2021. You can view the calendar in English and Spanish here. The first day of school is August 29, 2022, and the last day of school is June 7, 2023.

Main Thing 2 - Omicron

We know that as much as we want COVID-19 to be a thing of the past, it’s still here. We’ve received a few questions about the omicron variant and whether it will force us back into comprehensive distance learning. At this time, there are neither plans nor any indication from the state that we would be required to return to distance learning. We continue to operate with a multi-layered safety approach to COVID mitigation and will return to school as scheduled on January 3. The health and safety of our students, staff, and community continue to be our top priorities. View our Safety Standards here.

Main Thing 3 - Attendance Zoning

In case you missed it, Medford’s third middle school has a name, Oakdale Middle School! Crews are making great progress on upgrades to the building and we continue to plan for an August 2023 opening. We will reconvene our Attendance Zoning Committee this month, which will be charged with proposing new attendance zones to the Board of Directors this spring. If you would like to serve on the committee, fill out this form. To learn more about our attendance zoning process, click here.
