Buckingham's Holiday Gift Giving Tree
Holiday Giving Program… A great way to offer comfort and support to Buckingham families this holiday season.
On November 29th, the Buckingham Giving Tree was fully decorated in the hallway nearest the main office. The Giving Tree will continue to have tags that display the names of holiday gifts that can be donated to specific local families in need this holiday season. We invite our Buckingham Students to choose a tag if they wish & for the family/student to purchase the gift. We ask that the student/family wraps the gift and secure the tag to the outside of the gift wrap. All gifts should be delivered to school by December 15th to ensure holiday delivery. Please deliver your gifts to the main office.
Thank you so much for all of your wonderful generosity and support! More information needed….Please contact Bryan Rosica at brosica@cbsd.org
Buckingham's "Turkey Toss" - Providing Meals for Families
Our student-favorite Turkey Toss Fundraiser school event will take place the week of December 11th through December 15th. Here is how it works:
- Each student is asked to bring in a monetary donation of their choice.
- All students will be participating in many fun games during their gym class during the 11th through 15th - also known as Turkey Toss Week.
- The class that earns the most points from all the games and relays will win the Silly Turkey Trophy, which will be proudly displayed in their classroom for the rest of the school year!
Please know that ALL STUDENTS WILL PARTICIPATE IN THE ACTIVITIES regardless of whether you can assist financially or not.
Thank you for your continued support,
Nurse Randi and Mr. Durie
Message From the Health Room
With flu season soon upon us, please review our guidelines for sending your child back to school after an illness
Fever (defined as a temperature above 100):
- Please make sure that your child is fever free for 24 hours without the use of Tylenol or Motrin before sending them back to school.
Vomiting and Diarrhea:
- Please make sure that your child has not vomited or had diarrhea for 24-hours and is able to comfortably eat a regular meal.
If you are unsure about whether your child is ready to return to school following an illness, please err on the side of caution and keep them home an extra-day. As always, the health and safety of our entire Buckingham community is my first concern. If you have any questions, please contact the Health Office @ 267-893-4215

1st Grade Visits Howell Living History Farm
On Friday, November 17th, our 1st grade visited the Howell Living History Farm as part of their corn harvesting unit in Social Studies. The Howell Farm’s “Living History” enriches the present through "reenactment of the past" - back to the early 1900’s. The staff provided many fun and engaging activities for the students such as corn picking, corn shelling, corn grinding, and making corn bread. This experience provided the students a great sense of what it was like to be a child living on a farm during this era.

Our November Buckingham Artist of the Month for the 17-18 school year is Ava Snyder from Mr. Radcliff’s 6th grade class! She was chosen for her quality craftsmanship in her Optical Art project, and also for her positive attitude in art! Ava’s artwork will remain displayed on a special bulletin board for all of our students to view and admire. Congratulations Ava!
