Macbeth Act 5 Scene 1
1971 Roman Pulaski vs. 2010 Rupert Goold
Lady Macbeth looses her screws!
In the conclusion, the most accurate account of the book would have to be the 1971 version we watched. I say that because it almost exactly imitated everything in the book, well to me it did. It was also the one that helped me understand the plot better. It was easy to understand, it wasn’t all over the place and you didn’t have to look hard for the references from the book. Now the movie that gave the most interesting insight on the characters would have to be the most recent one that was made in 2010. That movie had great actors and actresses, and they really depicted the characters they were chosen to play.
What do these movies have in common?
There are a lot of reasons why these two clips were different, and one of them is because of the settings. One clip was outside and the other was inside in her room, which is where the book says she is. I think the director of the one when she was outside was just trying to show different views and make it fit into the story. I think that director chose to do that because he didn’t want to be like the other versions, he wanted to be aside from the other makes of the movie. Plus, a lot of the way the movies are different is because of the area they were made in, they were in two different time frames.
