The weekly newsletter for Keene Adventist Elementary School

OUR MISSION: Pursuing the joy of salvation, knowledge, leadership and community.

September 18, 2020

12:00 pm Early Release Next Friday, September 25.

Next Friday will be a half day of school due to a required training that all teachers must attend. Unfortunately we were just informed of this required meeting otherwise we would have built this day into our schedule. Please make plans to pick up your child at noon on Friday. Just like regular half days KAES will not be able to provide lunch or after school care. Thank you for being flexible and making this adjustment.
Virtual Grandparents Day 2020

(Virtual) Grandparents Day

If your child has grandparents near or far, we want to celebrate them. Our students and teachers have been working on different ways to let their grandparents know how much they are loved. We are disappointed that we could not open our doors and have them come in and spend time with us but we still wanted to do something. The attached video is on YouTube so it can be easily shared with all our grandparents. We have also placed it in our Facebook page and this newsletter so that you can have an easy way to share with those we love.

Gymnasium Progress

I am sure you noticed that we have starting preparing for pouring the parking lot and fire lanes for the new gymnasium. This is the final step before we begin raising the building. It is exciting to see this progress after so many years of planning and fundraising. Thank you for your continued financial support making this gym a reality. Remember that right now every dollar donated is matched dollar for dollar.

In an effort to keep you informed, we did have a student whose older sibling has tested presumed positive for covid. Due to close contact exposure the KAES student has been and will be quarantined until the incubation period is over, but there have been no signs of symptoms.

Let us stay vigilant in preventative measures. Please remember that everyone must check in at the school office before entering into our buildings and classrooms. This includes when school has dismissed. Thank you for your cooperation.

Books of the Bible Challenge

This year we have been talking all about the Bible, how it was written, when it was written, the authors, its literacy styles. We have included a challenge to all students to memorize the books of the Bible. Teachers are helping students with this challenge but you can participate at home too. We encourage you and your family to join us in this challenge. Digging into the Bible is fun, surprising, informing and saving.
