Good Evening Mayfield!


The end of the first quarter is coming to an end next week. It's hard to believe that we are 25% of the way through the school year. The last day of the quarter is Thursday, October 14th, and the following day is an early release day for students so that teachers can get the online report cards prepared.


Students have until Thursday of next week to complete any assignments and retake any assessments that they may not have done as well as they had expected. I have been in several classrooms where teachers have been providing students with great review lessons before retakes and then showing them all the skills they have acquired.

Hispanic Heritage Month: September 15th to October 15th

Early Release Day Schedule

Our students are about to have the first early release of the school year on Friday, October 15. Students are dismissed at 11:20. The early release schedule will dismiss students 3 hours early compared to our regular release day schedules. The early release schedule students will follow on Friday, October 15, and again on Thursday, October 21 can be view below.


  • Period 1: 7:15- 7:40
  • Period 2: 7:41-8:06
  • Period 3: 8:07-8:32
  • Period 4: 8:33-8:58
  • Period 5: 8:59-9:24 (Lunch for GMU)
  • Period 6: 9:25-9:50 (Lunch for VCU)
  • Period 7: 9:51-10:16 (Lunch for JMU)
  • Period 8: 10:17-10:42 (Lunch for VT)
  • Period 9: 10:43-11:08
  • Dismissal: 11:10 to 11:20

The Book Fair is Coming to Mayfield

Bookworm Central will be holding a book fair here at Mayfield Intermediate School during the week of October 25th. All students will have an opportunity to visit the book fair and make any purchases as long as they bring money.

Picture Day is Monday, November 1st!
