ASVAB Career Exploration Program (ASVAB CEP) Q&A session - TONIGHT!!

The ASVAB CEP promotes career literacy through exposure to career-field entry requirements and encouraging students to explore a wide variety of careers, rather than limiting their exploration by telling them what they can or should do. This is not just a military test. Please consider attending with your child as a pathway to career exploration.

SENIOR SURVEY

Every senior MUST complete a senior survey. The senior survey is how Guidance confirms where your transcript/records should be sent to. Whether a student is attending a 4 yr college, 2 yr college, technical school, going to the military or to work, we need a survey from EVERY senior. This year the survey is a google form, which can be accessed at this link: https://forms.gle/6MLmTjXqx67sNtUk9

If you have not already done so, please fill out your survey ASAP. See your Guidance Counselor with any questions.

SENIOR PROM

On Friday evening, our seniors were finally able to celebrate their prom at Arm & Hammer stadium in Trenton. It was a beautiful evening and I was so glad to see all of our students together. A huge thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make this event possible. Special congratulations go to the senior class representatives and the class advisors, Ms. Kaitlyn Reilly and Mr. Rob Heisler.

Petition to name the HSN Auditorium

Please see the attached petition to name our newly renovated auditorium after Class of 1982 HSN graduate, Maria Ressa. Ms. Ressa was named 2018 Time Magazine's Woman of the Year and has been nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize! Ms. Ressa was involved in all facets of school life as a Mariner and we feel it fitting that her name represent all students - past, present, and future. Please consider signing this petition. Thanks!

CONGRATULATIONS!

Congratulations to Teddy Wilson for his 4th place finish and personal best time in the 800 meters at the Shore Conference Track Championships on Saturday.

Congratulations to the Girls Track Team for placing second overall at the Shore Conference Championships this past weekend. Lia Malave won the Triple Jump with a Shore Conference best jump of 36-4. Olivia Takla placed 2nd in the mile and 3rd in the 800. Alexa Eglin placed 6th in the 3200, while Emma Fortuna and Olivia Nickelsen ran outstanding legs on the 4 x 4 for a 2nd place finish. Great job to everyone that ran.

The HS North sailing team won the NJISA 2021 State Championship on Saturday! The Mariners competed against 11 teams in unpredictable wind conditions. After jumping out to an early lead, the Mariners fell to second place midway before securing the win in the final race. There were a total of 20 races, with 10 in Division A and 10 in Division B. Everett Botwinick and Iliana Vasslides started the day off with six straight first place finishes in Division B while Declan Botwinick and Lindsay Walsh rallied in the second half of the regatta to secure the win with three consecutive first place finishes in the last 3 races in Division A. The Mariners did a great job working together to defeat their opponents to earn the title of the best high school sailing team in the state. The team is accepting new sailors (no experience necessary) for the fall season. If you are interested contact Monica at mvasslides@trschools.com
