Lowell Lantern
Principal's message
Dear Lowell Families,
What a great start to the 2019-2020 school we have had at Lowell! Students are engaged in classroom learning and excited to be at school! Teachers have been working with students to learn and practice our building and classroom procedures. They have been reviewing CORE expectations and have been demonstrating CORE behaviors throughout the building! Our focus will continue to be on CORE -- Civility, Order, Respect, and Excellence -- throughout our school year. These are words that you will hear every day in the halls and classrooms at Lowell! We encourage you to support our CORE initiative at home as well!
Mrs. Reedus, our dean, visited each classroom this week to review the Student Success Handbook. This is available for you to review at the Warren Township District website. All students also received a printed copy of the handbook to take home. Please review this handbook. We appreciate your support of these procedures!
Last night was our first skating party of the school year. Students had a great time at Roller Cave! A big thanks to everyone for coming to the Roller Cave and to our Lowell PTA for sponsoring this event!! We encourage families to take part in our skating parties! It’s a great way for you to meet other families and for the students to have some fun!
Please remember that students are to be in class each day by the 8:05am bell. Students are released to class at 7:55am and expected to be in their seats and ready to learn by 8:05am. Late arrivals impact student learning and often get the day off on the wrong foot. Thank you for ensuring that your students are at school and on time every day!
For those morning car riders, please remember that students are NOT to be released from their cars until our teachers are outside on the sidewalk and signal for you to release. We do not want students unsupervised as cars are pulling up or pulling away. I also ask that car rider procedures are followed accordingly both in the morning and in the afternoon. Please make sure to stay in the line and do not go around cars to advance in the line. I understand the line is lengthy; however, we ask for your patience to ensure that students are safe while getting into and out of their cars. Student safety is our priority!
Have a great weekend!

This process allows us to ensure every child's safety during the school day. Thank you for your cooperation.
* Parents are always welcome at Lowell! If you would like to visit your child's classroom, please call or email your child's teacher or Mrs. Griffin so we can make arrangements and ensure that the students will be in the classroom at the time of your visit. We encourage you and welcome you to always be a part of your child's learning, and we truly value your involvement!
