Dispositions For Teaching
by, Jessica Lee
Why teaching?
I want to be a teacher because it is my life long dream. I grew up wanting to teach and as I became an adult, I acquired a love for children. I feel very passionate about this endeavor and want to make my family and my children proud.
Why me?
I will be a fantastic teacher because I am passionate. I'm passionate about content, the students, and my community. I want to make a difference in peoples lives. I will care about all of my students and will strive to bring out the best in them.
What are the values, commitments, and professional ethics that I have that will influence my profession as a teacher?
- I have serious work ethic. I believe in being prompt. I think dressing appropriately is a major factor in ethics. Organization and being neat is imperative.
- I value the education system. I also value the advice and criticism of my supervisors and peers. I strive to do my best and to be present in the moment. I don't like negativity. I like to stay as positive as possible while talking to my peers and supervisors. Gossip within the schools is not an acceptable trait.
- I also like to extend a helping hand. If help is needed in another department or area, I will be glad to help. I am committed to being the best possible teacher, student, and employee that I can be.
Am I an agent for change?
I am an agent for change. I enjoy technology and I accept that it is here to stay. I accept that there are changes constantly in education and I'm ready to tackle the changes as they come my way. From testing to technology to culture. I'm ready to embrace it.
