Welcome to 4th Grade
Ms. Day's Class
First Week
Dear Parents of Ms. Day’s 4th Graders,
I would like to introduce myself and welcome you to Grade 4 and my classroom. My name is Vera Day and I will be leading your children through the great adventure that is Grade 4. The students and I have completed our third day of school in flying colors. They have met new friends, in a new class, with a new teacher. Quite a lot for only 3 days I would say. I hope your children are arriving home with smiles on their faces and excitement in their hearts and minds this week.
A big part of this first week will be spent setting up classroom routines and building our own learning community. In the fourth grade we place a large emphasis on building an environment of respect and responsibility. We will learn to work together and support one another. Students will focus on effective communication and what it takes to make appropriate decisions at school. Children will get a chance to practice being responsible by completing and handing in their homework on time. Please see my blog for specifics on home learning and other important information as was sent home today we will transition from a blog to the Seesaw program for student and teacher communication with home.
The Elementary School runs on a six-day cycle and a monthly calendar has been attached to this blog also, so that you can keep track of which days your child has various specials. Library and Technology are also apart of the cycle. Note that the students are encouraged to borrow and/or return library books as needed.
It is a joy and a privilege to be part of your family’s life this year. We are all an integral part of the learning process and should be there to support each other in any way possible. Please don’t hesitate to contact me at verad@isb.ac.th or drop me a note in your child’s communication log, I will get back to you as soon as possible. Let’s have a great year by not only learning and exploring new ideas, but also having tons of fun at the same time!
Sincerely,
Vera Day
