What We're Doing In Stoy PreK
2016 - Off To A Great Start!
We jumped right back into school, with units of study on Snow and Polar Animals! The children really enjoyed all the fabulous snow and snow animal books we read, and used many different art supplies to make an assortment of projects!
Our art response to "The Snowy Day" by Ezra Jack Keats.
Shaving cream and glue make great snow paint!
We played with lots of pieces to build, rebuild, and build some more!
A Reindeer Snowman!
Our imaginations got very creative :)
All Dressed Up Snowperson
Yoga Stretching :)
We are using our whole bodies to stretch and take some breaks to improve our focus and calm our bodies :)
Math: Matching numbers with groups of objects - beanbag toss :)
Math can be fun! We tossed beanbags and counted out snowmen to match - ten frames are the newest way to count :)
Play to Learn!
We all know how children learn best - through play! We have had such fun with this unit - hope you enjoy this glimpse into your child's world :)
Coming Up ...
We will be reading books by Laura Joffe Numeroff next week ("If You Give A Mouse A Cookie..."), and then on to Mittens as a theme :) We continue to go over a letter a week and encourage you to reinforce these at home, through play and guessing games, etc.
More FUN ahead!
