No More Turkey!
Turkey No More!
Once the stuffing and mashed potatoes are gone, I can't stomach any more turkey. You?
The next three weeks are full. Do keep in touch.
Common Assessments - DuFour PLCs
- What is the standard to be taught?
- How will I know if the students are proficient at this standard?
- What will I do when they are proficient?
- What will I do when they are not?
Two images stand out from DuFour's PLC:
- The image of the old-school teacher as a marathon runner. The 'New-School' teacher as a member on a rowing team - all in unison - working together - helping each other - letting one rest but the boat keeps moving forward. This was very different from the lone runner dealing with shin splints and back problems.
- Pre-Service Teachers moving student names on a grade-level PLC skill needs board. Targeted small group instruction should be dynamic, personalized, and targeted to those in need. Some colleges were teaching their student teachers this system.
This was 6 years ago.
Are we rowing or running .... do we have dynamic targeted small instructional groupings?
