ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS
-Review noun, verb, and adjectives. These will be placed as additional review in our "Word Work" containers during our ELA centers.
-Introduce pronouns and plural nouns (when to add -s or -es)
-Locating the main idea and supporting details of informational texts and combining this into a complete paragraph
-Narrative Writing: Brainstorming Ideas

MATH
Grade 3:
-How can rounding help you when estimating double and triple digit addends?
-How can you add more than 2 addends?
-How can you add triple digit numbers?

Grade 4:
-How do you round numbers? (0, 1, 2, 3, 4: stays the same; 5, 6, 7, 8, 9: goes up one)
-How can you rename numbers?
-Using place-value to add numbers
-WEDNESDAY: MIDCHAPTER CHECK

SCIENCE
CLASS SCIENCE EXPERIMENT
-If I change the amount of sunlight that my bean plant receives, will it grow?

Students are watering their bean plants daily and recording on their observation sheets any growth that is noticed. The student plants are receiving sunlight and being compared to the teacher's bean plant, located within a cabinet.

-Plant Structure and Function Review
-How do plants respond to their environment?

SOCIAL STUDIES
-What are the 3 branches of government and what do they do?
(Executive, Legislative, Judicial)
-Partner Research Project: Students will work with a partner to research and locate 4 facts about a chosen U.S. Symbol. This will be electronically presented when complete.

PROGRESS REPORT REMINDER

Progress reports went home on Friday, September 25, 2015. Please make sure to sign and return the bottom portion with your child.

Homework Update

In an effort to ensure that students have ample time to complete homework, students will now be receiving a WEEKLY homework packet on Monday. This will include all necessary review and reading for the week. Homework packet is due on Friday morning, complete and with a parent signature.
