School Counseling Newsletter
December 2020
You all have so much on your plates right now, so we will keep it short. We are grateful for all that you are doing to help your kids get online to their classes, stay on top of work, and keeping them motivated. We could not do this without you all! Remember, we in the office are still here to help, so please don't hesitate to reach out to us.
Take care,
Mrs. Fei

8th Grade Parents: At the Core
It may be hard to believe, but it won’t be long before we start talking with your students about high school scheduling. This includes things such as graduation requirements, course choices (such as Honors and AP), different high school options (such as Linworth and DACC), and potential career directions. This can feel like a tremendous amount of information, especially if this is your first high school student. Starting in January, there will be several opportunities for your student and for you to get the information you need.
To start us off, we'd like to invite you to a presentation with Beth Probst, from At The Core. This presentation is not specific to Worthington, but rather some things you and your student might consider when entering into high school. Your Worthington School Counselors will work with your students and you about specific scheduling information. Please see below for the link to register for the webinar on January 7, 2021 beginning at 6:30 pm.
We would like to thank the McCord PTA for funding this presentation and opening it up to all district 8th grade families. This is an exciting time for 8th grade students and we look forward to working with yours over the next few months as we help get them ready for the transition to high school.
Attention parents/guardians of 8th graders!
We are now accepting registrations for a special, virtual presentation entitled, Looking Ahead™: Planning for Success in High School and Beyond on January 7, 2021 beginning at 6:30 pm.
