Location
The western wall is located in Jerusalem. The western Wall plaza is a large open area. The western wall is near dome of the rock a site in Jerusalem.
History
The construction of the wall took 11 years and it was built by king Herod in 20 bc. In 70 AD the Romans destroyed Jerusalem and the wall. It has become a place for jews to go and worship.
What to see at the wall
The wall had paper containing written prayers. The huge lower stones of the wall are from king Herod time.
Fun facts
its also called the wailing wall. will smith visited the western wall in 2006. After the prayer section grass grows from the tops of the stones.
