School Wide Information

AVID Information Meeting- Interested in joining AVID next year? Join us on March 8th during lunch for an information and application meeting. Click HERE for the flyer and HERE on more information about what is AVID. Email Mrs. Chung at donbichung@iusd.org if you are interested in attending.


CAASP Testing- Each spring, students in grades 3-8 and 11 participate in the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) to provide information about their skills in English-language arts/literacy (ELA), mathematics, and science. These computer-based assessments reflect California’s rigorous academic standards, and measure students’ ability to write clearly, think critically, and solve problems—skills needed for success in college or career. Multicultural Night- We will be hosting an IVA Multicultural Night on Friday, March 24 from 5:00-7:00PM at Creekside Education Center. Join us for a night of learning about different cultures that represent our students by visiting booths, playing games, and watching cultural performances.

Sign up to get involved by signing up for a booth or participating in the cultural talent show. If you would like to participate, submit your Interest Google Form by Monday, March 6. If you have any questions, you can send an email to Brianna Nguyen, IVA Activities Director at briannanguyen@iusd.org.


Abilities Awareness Event and Community Resource Fair- Join us Wednesday, March 15th from 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm at Northwood High School. This event is intended to bring all of us together including community resources that support inclusive practices in Irvine to celebrate, connect, and inform. Additionally, the event will include music, performances, an art gallery, and more. Food will be available for purchase via food trucks.


IUSD Science Fair Winners- The 42nd Annual IUSD Science Fair Awards Ceremony took place on Wednesday, February 15th at Jeffrey Trail Middle School. We are excited to announce that Sylvia Liang earned Honorable Mention for her project Factors That Affect Plant Growth and Joshua Pillai earned First Place for his project Novel Bilayer Elasto-Hydrogel Adhesive Film for Facilitating Wet-Occlusive Therapy for Atopic Dermatitis and will advance to the Orange County Science and Engineering Fair (OCSEF).

IUSD’s Irvine Family Resource Center is currently offering Parent Enrichment workshops. You can find more information regarding their upcoming Parenting from the Heart workshop Click here for flyer. Additionally, the IFRC will be hosting a Virtual Mental Health Presentation on March 7, 2023 from 6 p.m.-7 p. m. on “Helping Your Child Thrive In An Upside-Down World”. In this presentation, Dr. Peter Nierman, Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist from Aliso Ridge, will discuss ways for parents to help their children navigate a rapidly changing world. Dr. Peter Nierman hopes to increase awareness of the unprecedented challenges faced by students today and provide strategies for optimizing effective parenting. Targeted audience: Pre-K to 12th grade parents. Click here to register

Irvine Junior Games- Registration is open for the Irvine Junior Games track meet. The Junior Games will be held Sunday, May 7th at Irvine Stadium. Families who are interested simply need to go to https://irvinechildrensfund.org/irvine-junior-games/ and sign up. Registrations are limited and close on March 17th – the sooner you register the better! For those who don’t know, the Irvine Junior Games are a one-day track and field event for 4th-8th grade IUSD students On May 7th. Proceeds from registrations go to the Irvine Children’s Fund. Irvine Parent Education Programs (IPEP)- FREE seminars and educational workshops offered to Irvine parents throughout the school year. The goal is to empower parents with the skills and strategies necessary to become active participants in their child’s education. High School Updates

ASB Corner- Check out our ASB Corner for March!

A few highlights include:

  • Multicultural Week: Join us for a of life through the lens of diverse cultures from around the world for Multicultural Nigh on March 24th from 5:00-7:00PM at the Creekside Education Center. We will be having booths where everyone can choose to sign up to showcase their culture, and a cultural theater where you can also dance/sing/perform a skit. There will be henna stalls, game booths, surprise prizes and delectable baked goods. Links to sign up are in our ASB Corner!
  • ASB Info Meeting: Save the date-- Our 2023/24 ASB Info Meeting will be on Thursday March 9. Zoom link is in our ASB Corner!


IVC Preview Night- All high school students and families are invited to attend the Irvine Valley College (IVC) Preview Night event next week on Tuesday March 7th, 2023! This festive event allows families to visit the campus and learn more about what IVC has to offer. IVC is giving a free IVC t-shirt and burger meals from The Habit Burger to the first 1,500 registered attendees. To register for the event, click here.

IUCPTA Scholarship- The scholarship will go to graduating seniors and will be used towards continued education after graduation. Recipients must attend an accredited college/university, community college, trade or technical school within the first year following high school graduation.Qualifications: This scholarship recognizes students who are PTSA members and whom have performed service activities inside and outside of school.

Introducing Odyssey! Have you ever wanted to be a part a group of people who share the same interests as yourself? IAn Odyssey is a large group of Phoenixes. Our school mascot is a Phoenix, which means, you're a Phoenix too! Each Monday you will have the opportunity to explore different topics led by your Leadership Council Members from Middle School.

Want to learn more? Join us for an Info Meeting on Monday, March 6 from 12:30-1:00PM on Zoom. This is open to all Middle School IVA Students.


The Middle School Counseling Canvas is up and running. We will be providing Information on upcoming events around the community, seasonal activity videos, videos on how to stay organized, and much more. Please keep an eye out in your Advisement classes for more information!
