Academic Expectations Night!

Big picture

Dear Coronado Community,

In many ways we have had a very successful start to the school year. Our teachers came back ready to teach and our students ready to learn. This is refreshing to see, especially in light of this last year and the uncertainty of what lies ahead. Our resilience and our ability to work together as a team are some of my favorite things about this community.

In order to keep everyone as safe as possible I am asking that you continue to remind your students to wear a mask at school (especially indoors), wash their hands frequently, and stay home when sick. It is very important that students who are sick do not come to school. When your child is home, please reach out to their teachers to determine how they can access their school work from home. You can find the staff directory here. Thank you for your continued support and cooperation as we work together to keep our campus safe!

We have made some changes to our upcoming Academic Expectations Night. The event will be held at Coronado High School on August 25 from 6 pm-8 pm. In order to limit large gatherings of people, we have moved the teachers from the gym to their classrooms. Please ask your student to share their schedule, which includes the teacher and room number. You can also find student schedule information on ParentVUE or StudentVUE. Staff will be around campus to help direct families. We will not follow a bell schedule so you may arrive when you like and visit the teachers and stations you choose. All guests must wear a mask. We will have some masks at the check-in desks as well. A cookout meal will be served for the first 400 guests.

Scottsdale Unified School District will be putting out updated messaging regarding mitigation strategies, including mask wearing. Please look for this very important communication from our district. If your family needs new masks, please stop by our front office. We have packs of adult and child size masks which are free for our community. If your child would like a free Coronado mask, have them fill out this form.

We hope to see you at Academic Expectations Night! Please reach out if you have questions or I can assist in any way!
