Senior Class Cap & Gown Professional Picture Days: May 20 and May 21
Seniors and parents/guardians are invited to come in on Wednesday, May 20 or Thursday, May 21 to get professional pictures taken at CHS. All appointments must be scheduled in advance and staggered to ensure appropriate social distancing, so it is crucial that you arrive photo-ready and on time. Click on the button below to schedule your appointment if you have not done so already. Remember, you only need to schedule yourself for ONE of the two photographers.
IMPORTANT: Please enter CHS through the back entrance via Ogden Rd. and park in the lot behind the gym. All families will enter the building through the back entrance, near the locker room hallway. We will have various "stops" for you to make in a specific route around the building in order to most efficiently use our time, and to ensure for appropriate social distancing while you are here. Thank you in advance for abiding by all of our safety guidelines as provided by the Rock County Department of Public Health.
Graduation cords will be distributed to their recipients as your first stop on the route, so you will have these just in time for your photo shoot! Diplomas will be distributed at a later date.

May 26 - June 9: Period of Enrichment & Remediation
As a reminder, the last day for "new learning" will be Friday, May 22nd. No new lessons will be posted to Google Classroom after this date. We will be designating Tuesday, May 26 through Tuesday, June 9th as a period of enrichment and remediation.
What will "Enrichment" look like? On Tuesday, May 26th a series of enrichment activities will be posted to each of the Class Advisory Google Classrooms, for grades 9-12. These activities range from choreographing your own dance to planning a trip to the various capitals of the US. All enrichment activities are completely optional, and are designed to get students learning beyond "the screen." Completed activities can be emailed to out Talented and Gifted Coordinator, Linda Lund at lilund@clintonwis.com. We will be sure to post any outstanding student products that come out of the enrichment activities in upcoming newsletters.
What will "Remediation" look like? Helping all students to achieve academic success is a top priority at Clinton High School. We understand that the abrupt change to virtual learning this semester has been difficult for families and for students. In order to better serve you, May 26 to June 9 will be used as a period of remediation for students in need of additional academic support, and no new virtual lessons will be posted during this time. Should your child still have a grade of F or I (Incomplete) by May 22nd, they will be paired with a "Learning Coach" for the remainder of the school year as an additional support. You will be formally notified if your student is a candidate for a learning coach as we head closer to May 22nd. Our goal will be to provide students with individualized support to help them prioritize their workload and arrange for extra help where needed so that they are successful in demonstrating the learning necessary to pass all of their Semester II classes. Students who are unsuccessful in passing their classes within the period of remediation will also have the opportunity to earn credit within summer school for designated core classes.

Parents...we love you!
To all CCSD parents and guardians: we can’t thank you enough for all you have done to support our staff and your students through alternative learning. We realize it has not been easy, but we definitely appreciate the positive relationships and partnerships between the school and the families--we couldn’t do this without you!!! Here is a short video thanking you from the staff at CCSD! Special thanks go out to Julie Barker for her work in creating this message.
Congratulations to Mrs. Sullivan and Mrs. Shoemaker!

May is Mental Health Month!
With May being nationally recognized as Mental Health Awareness month, here is a good article for parents to read. Our students mental health is very important during this time, and may be presenting itself differently for each individual. https://www.nationalgeographic.com/family/in-the-news/coronavirus/kids-mental-health-coronavirus/#close
AP tests are in full swing! We have gotten through the AP Calculus test and AP US History test this past week. Next week we have AP English Language and AP World History. If students have any questions, they should contact Mrs. Runkel or look in their email for the tips and hints that have been sent already. The AP testing information is changing almost by the minute with College Board, so I am doing my best to stay on top of all the changes. If you want to also find changes, you can find them usually only on Twitter
College Board or with AP Trevor Packer. Good luck to all the test takers!!!
