General Maintenance and Electrical
Monthly Report
- The general maintenance team began the month of March with 31 active work orders . We closed 130 work orders by the end of the month and ended the month with 76 active work orders. The increased number of work orders was due to the door renumbering project mandated by the state.
HIGHLIGHTED WORK ORDER ACTIVITY! π¨
General Maintenance continued to close out work orders at a quick pace. They also tackled major projects along the way. We began the door numbering compliance project across the district. That project will be completed the first week of May. These are examples of the 130 work orders completed during the month of April.
- Gene Holz repaired damaged tables in the discovery lab at Central Administration. He also responded to a small flood in a classroom at Saginaw High School. He used his recent training to fully remediate and minimize the impact to the classroom.
- Jesse Markovits hung a banner at Creekview Middle School and replaced water damage ceiling tiles at Prairie Vista Middle School.
- Jesus "Chuy" Rendon installed a glass white board at Prairie Vista Middle School. He also repaired damaged restroom stalls at Marine Creek Middle School.
- Paul Williams repaired a hole in a slide at Elkins Elementary and fix a gap in the chain link fence at Remington Pointe Elementary.
- Richard Wiese removed window tinting from the windows at Central Administration and repaired broken fence pickets at Building 5 Teams facility
- Ruben Maldonado repaired a damaged chain link fence post at Chisholm Trail High School. He also repaired holes in drywall at Building 5 Teams facility.
GENERAL MAINTENANCE EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH FOR APRIL
Chuy is always ready to lend a helping hand and gives maximum effort in everything he does. He has quickly established himself as a vital part of the General Maintenance team. His willingness to work hard without complaint makes him this months outstanding employee!
- The Electrical team began the month with 39 active work orders. We closed 103 work orders during this time and ended the month with 24 active work orders.
HEATING UP THE CONCESSION STAND AT BOSWELL HIGH SCHOOLπ₯
John Snider has completed the heater wiring in the concession stand.
UPGRADES AT THE AG BARN π·π
The electrical team continues to make progress on the renovations at the Ag Barn. They have run conduit throughout the pig barn and have installed the service panels. They are waiting on the light fixtures to arrive. Once the fixtures have been installed they will move to the goat barn.

The electricians continue to rock steady and have maintained a good pace at closing out work orders despite spending time on the Ag Barn project. These are examples of the 103 work orders closed for the month of March.
- John Snider completed the heater wiring in the concession stand at Boswell High School. He has now moved to the Ag Barn project.
- Bobby Carr repaired lights in a girls bathroom at Chisholm Trail High School. He also repaired lighting in the kitchen at Eagle Mountain Elementary.
- Kevin York repaired lights in the boys bathroom at Dozier Elementary. He also repaired wall switches at High Country Elementary.
- Brad Phillips repaired outlets at Bryson Elementary and lights in the library at Chisholm Trail High School.
- Brandon Orellana changed out bad ballasts at Hafley Development Center. He also repaired lights in dance cheer area of Saginaw High School.
- Matt Winchell secured all the pathway lights at Chisholm Trail High School in preparation for Watson Graduation. He also worked on flickering light fixtures at Parkview Elementary.
- The electrical group continues to devote 2 days a week to the Ag Barn renovation project.
ELECTRICAL EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH - APRIL
Electricians - Brandon Orellana
Brandon is always willing to help not only the electrical department but all other departments as well. His positive attitude and willingness to go the extra mile is an inspiration to the department. Brandon continually offers to put in extra hours to complete the over all mission of the electrical department. Thank you for all your hard work Brandon!
Operations Projects Completed
The follow Operations projects were completed this month.
- The outfield wall on the competition softball field at Saginaw High School was replaced by Ware Fencing.
- Humphries Electric completed the lighting repairs in the auditorium at Chisholm Trail High School.
- Ware Fencing repaired storm damaged fence at Boswell High School and Marine Creek Middle School.
- Nortex lifted sinking concrete at the entrance to the baseball complex at Saginaw High School.
- General Maintenance added an address sign to the Old Admin complex that was requested by the Saginaw Fire Marshall.
Operations Projects In Progress
The follow projects are in progress
- Repair the bent railing at Chisholm Trail stadium - Ware Fencing attempted this repair but needs to order a complete new handrail. The completion date for this project has been pushed out to May 15th due to material delays.
- Repair the sidewalk at Bryson Elementary - We have quotes from Goldsmith and Ware Fencing to make this repair. We are looking for a third vendor to quote this project.
- Install fence slats on the tennis courts at Wayside Middle School - The fence slats have arrived and this project is currently underway.
- Willow Creek Signs replaced the storm damaged letters on the Wayside Middle School gym.
- Binswanger Glass has been scheduled to replace a broken window near the cafeteria at Lake Pointe Elementary.
Operations Projects In Planning
These are the projects that are in the planning stage. We are working with outside contractors on the following issues.
- Replace and repair the damage pave stones in the courtyard at Saginaw High School.
- Demo the wall in the kitchen service line at Saginaw High School.
- The semi annual gym resurfacing project at all the high schools and middle schools has been scheduled and a PO has been generated. Resurfacing will begin at the end of May.
- Fall material replacement has been scheduled for delivery beginning in June.
- Summer parking lot striping has been schedule and will begin in June.
- Replacement of storm damaged shade structures is scheduled to begin in June.
- Stair tread replacement at Chisholm Trail is scheduled for June.
- We will install chain link fencing inside of the wood fence by building 5 Teams facility to prevent damage to the wooden fence that is shared with Wayside Middle School.
- We have 50 active projects around the district.
Door Numbering Project
We have begun renumbering the doors at all district campuses in accordance with state requirements. General Maintenance has installed four inch reflective numbers that are visible from the street and contrast with the building. These numbers are located at each exterior door and on the bottom right hinge on the inside. As of this report they have completed every campus with exception of Saginaw High School which will be completed the first week of May.
DEPARTMENT STAFFING
General Maintenance has 2 open FTE's. We are conducting interviews during the first week of May. We have interviewed one candidate already. Applications are coming in slowly.
We have also begun accepting applications for the Electrical Supervisor position in anticipation of John Snider's retirement at the end of June. We have nine candidates including six master electricians.

Operations Supervisor
The function of the Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD maintenance department is to maintain the district's campuses to meet the district's standard of excellence so that full educational use may be made at all times, providing students with a physical learning environment that is safe, clean, attractive, and functional.
