Life of A Family in the Colonies
What they ate, What they played, How they lived!
The Family on The Mayflower
Lets say you and your family were on the Mayflower. You are heading to America to live your life as a American citizen. The downside is that you and almost twenty other families are all in one room, your children have only small dolls and the cats and dogs on deck to play with, and the food is going bad. After many weeks of disgusting smells and food you can get off and start your new life!
THEY HUNTED FISHED AND GREW CROPS TO SURVIVE
LIFE IN THE COLONIES
About a year after leaving the Mayflower, you and your family have started a small farm and most of you have adapted to life in the colonies. If your a girl, you stay at home and do chores like washing clothes and cooking dinner, If your a boy then you go out and work on the farm, hunt for wild animals and fish ( with the help of the indians ) and sharpen tools like knives. You and your family sat at one table, ate from the same bowls, and lived of the land with the other townsfolk. Butchers, blacksmiths, and farmers are what you would mostly see, and plantation owners provide most of the towns crops and livestock.
LIFE WAS HARD, BUT THEY MADE A LIVING
HARD TIMES
After many years, you and your family are running out of money and the town has been waiting for the supply shipments for over a month. The plantaion owners have been keeping most of the food to themselves to feed their families and slaves. Your father and mother have nothing to feed you and your brother and sister have been trying to find food for the town, finally you and the people of the crumbling village have across a small grove filled with berries and lots of animals. The town waists no time and dashes about, setting traps, gathering berries, and fishing. You still fear that something happened to cause the indains to leave, but although a few people died you feel everything will be ok...
For now...
