The Mustang Minute
November 11, 2022 - Issue 11
Short but Busy Week
Thank You to our Norwood Veterans
We know that many family members in our Coakley and our larger Norwood community are active or retired military. On this day, we would like to say Thank You for serving and supporting our country is so many ways!
In additional to wearing the red, white, and blue, many classes spent the end of the day learning more about Veteran's Day, what it means, who it is for, and how it came to be. Thank you to our social studies department chair and other teachers who shared materials for the whole school to learn more about this important holiday.
Aspen Profile Updates
You may recall in the past that the Norwood Public Schools would send out Student Profile Update Sheets at the beginning of each year. With Aspen, we have been able to make that process simple and online. We are asking one member of each family to log into Aspen and complete the Online Returning Student registration (despite the name ALL students need to have this done). The link below will lead you directly to the handout and video that shows you how to complete the process. While the video may be long (26 minutes), the process is not and using the handout may be sufficient for most families.
Parent Teacher Conferences
Parent Teacher conferences will be held November 9th, 16th, and 17th. The conferences on the evenings of 11/9 and 11/17 will be in-person, conferences on the afternoon of the 16th will be virtual. Students were asked to bring home letters last week (or they were emailed directly) and this week, teachers sent out a Sign-Up Genius. While there are never enough slots for all of our families, we will meet with all families that request a meeting. If the slots are filled when you go to register, please reach out to your grade level guidance counselor, and they will schedule a meeting with your child's team.
