Nuclear Fusion

Nuclear Fusion

I'm Ashley Wagner and my lab is a lab on nuclear fusion. We have discovered a way to use nuclear fusion as an energy source!

Nuclear fusion produces energy when two atomic nuclei come together, this is different from nuclear fission because nuclear fission produces energy when two atomic nuclei split apart. Nuclear fission produces energy for electricity while nuclear fusion produces energy for the sun.

There are some safety concerns with nuclear fusion, such as that it produces more energy than nuclear bombs, which is a lot of energy and can be very dangerous if its not controlled.

Economic impact

Nuclear fusion can produce 16 megawatts of power in seconds, this is enough to power 8,000 homes. This would be good because the world would have no energy limitations, therefore we would not have to worry about conserving energy.
