Greetings!

I want to welcome back all of last year's families and extend a special welcome to the new families for the 2015-16 school year! This is going to be a great year. We continue to grow and develop as a school in so many ways. What remains the same, however, is our commitment to a high quality, innovative Catholic education. Our Juan Diego program is growing as it enters grade three this year and we are excited to see the amazing progress of our students. I hope that you have all had a wonderful summer and are getting ready for the start of a new year. Our school office will be open regular hours (7:30 - 3:30) beginning Monday, Aug. 17th. Feel free to call or pop by if you need anything. And, once again, welcome!

Holy Rosary's New Parent Service Club (How to Join!)

We have launched a Parent Service Club (PSC) for the 2015-16 school year. So many fantastic parents have already stepped up to help out and they can use your help, too.


Here are the leaders of the club, as well as their roles:

  • Service Club President

    • Chair - Amanda Schweickert (Contact: Amanda.P.Schweickert@gmail.com)

      • Manage overall objectives and strategies of PSC

      • Act as liaison between committee chairs and principal

      • Act as liaison between parents and principal/staff


  • Volunteer Committee (Contact: casmt@comcast.net)

    • Chair - Colleen Thomson

      • Coordinate with all school volunteers

      • Coordinate room parents with teachers

      • Facilitate background checks and Safe Environment compliance


  • Fundraising Chair (Contact: sohedges@gmail.com)

    • Chair - Shannan O’Driscoll-Hedges

      • Assist with recruitment of and provide support to committee members for key fundraising events

      • Advertise ongoing fundraising campaigns

      • Recruit volunteers as needed


  • Social Committee (Contact: smhopkins@comcast.net)

    • Chair - Shannon Hopkins

      • Host several events during the school year with parent volunteers

      • Coordinate a committee of helpers and focus on making all parents feel welcome at HRRS/JDA


  • Community Outreach (Bilingual) (Contact: floriantamayo@yahoo.com)

    • Chair - Florian Tamayo

      • Work with Development Office on marketing opportunities

      • Lead service opportunities within the community


  • CYO Sports

    • Chair - Eric Westby (Contact: CYO@hrrsjda.org)

      • Recruit coaches for CYO sports

      • Scheduling, marketing, and materials for sports teams

      • Background checks and Safe Environment compliance
