Principal Petrick Message
If you missed the communication from Superintendent Scott earlier this week, you can find the message on our HSD Website at the top under the Return to School Planning Update. We are anticipating an adjustment to county metrics from the Governor next week. Providing we can meet these new metrics in our county, we will begin transitioning students back to in-person learning. K - 2 will return first. The earliest this could happen is likely the middle of February. From a district perspective, there are many pieces to coordinate, including staffing, transportation, labor challenges, nutrition services and instructional adjustments. Those families that prefer to have their child remain in CDL, may do so for the remainder of the year.
Here at Farmington View, we have our classrooms adjusted and ready to meet county health guidelines. When we are able to return, it will be different. Resuming normal school interactions/operations will not be possible. However, we will have teachers and students in classrooms together. We are very excited about the prospects of getting to see our wonderful students in person again. Many updates to come over the next several weeks!
Have a great weekend,
Mr. Petrick

CAN TRANSPORTER NEEDED
FVPAE Needs Can Driver Volunteer
Farmington View's Can and Bottle Recycling Program is looking for a volunteer to take over transporting the bags of sorted cans/bottles to the Oregon Beverage and Recycling Center in East Portland. Our current volunteer, Dick Meeuwsen, is an FVES alumni father who continues to do FVPAE a huge service out of the kindness of his heart! He is needing to "retire" from his volunteer position due to health reasons but is willing to stick around to show the new volunteer the ropes. If you're interested in volunteering or have questions please contact Natasha at natasha.garcia93@gmail.com.
Details: He uses an 18ft trailer but 16ft would also work. Typically he takes one load per month, although it has increased to two loads since COVID started.
