Friday, September 16th is an Early Release Day and we will release at 12pm.

Picture Day

Picture day is September 20th.

iPad expectations

In order to keep iPads up and running smoothly this year, between home and school, we have a few requests for students:

1) Charge iPads fully, to 100%, each night.

2) Bring iPads back to school each day.

3) Do not take iPad out of the case.

4) No food or liquids around the iPad.

5) If the iPad needs troubleshooting, please wait until returning to school for help.

Standards:

4.NBT.4: Fluently add and subtract multi-digit whole numbers using the standard algorithm.


"I Can" Statement:

I can add and subtract multi-digit whole numbers.


What will we learn? This week, we will adding and subtracting numbers with digits up to the millions place. This includes addition with regrouping, subtracting with regrouping, and subtraction across zeros.

READING TOPICS

Standards: RL.4.7 Determine a theme of a story, drama, or poem from details in the text; summarize the text.


"I Can" Statement:

I can summarize a work of fiction.


What will we learn? Summarizing is retelling a story by using your own words. Students will use various strategies to summarize a text and making sure they don't give too many details in a summary. The most common strategy we will use this week is "Somebody, Wanted, But, So, Then". Refer to the anchor chart below for help.
