"It's a shame really, Amy. You're so smart. You have so much to offer for us, but you just can't be trusted. I know you think that one day, maybe not not too far off, you'll escape..."
Paragraph
Amy Harris was watching the news when the president announced the world was under attack by aliens. At first she hid in fear, but eventually she grew curious and watched Them, the name Amy gave their species, from the safety of her home. One day she left her house to get food from an abandoned marketplace. There she found a very young girl, a baby. Amy carried her home and raised the girl, naming her Baby. Amy's house is protected by an electric fence so They can't get in, if They touched the fence They would be electrocuted. One day a group of survivors disabled Amy's and Baby's fence forcing them to flee their only chance at survival. They get rescued by a force team that was looking for survivors to take to New Hope, a safe haven that wasn't infested with Them. But people can't be trusted, 4 months later Amy wakes up in a mental hospital, drugged and groggy with no memory of how she got their. Her old friends realize the medicine the doctors are giving her and give Amy other medicine secretly so she can regain her memory. When she does her doctor, Dr. Reynolds comes to check up on her. The quote I used is explaining that Dr. Reynolds has no plan of letting her escape. That she is a distraction and a burden to New Hope. And that even though Amy may think everything will turn out okay, he assures her, it won't. But to Amy's surprise he was wrong, after her meeting with him, her friends help her escape. She suits up and get ready to look for survivors out of New Hope. And like that, she runs freely In the After.
