IB: Saturday Academy Tutoring and College Workshops
The IB Help Center has continued to have sessions that target tutoring needs and college prep. In November and December, there were specific workshops on college essay/insight writing and FAFSA. Workshops and tutoring are planned to continue as part of Saturday Academy in 2022, so keep an eye out for dates.

IB College Club Activities
The IB College Club is a club open to all students interested in IB courses and college. Most recently, the club finalized designs for t-shirts for the senior Diploma Candidates and is in the final stages of designs for junior Diploma Candidates and club members. Other activities in the the first semester included planning college presentations, field trips and college research projects. If a student is interested in the club, they meet every other Wednesday in room 917 during 1st lunch and in room 125 during 2nd lunch.

8th Grade IB Recruiting
The IB recruiting window for 8th graders is earlier than normal this year. The IB team will be visiting middle schools to share info on the program. There will be a follow-up event at Norte Vista in early 2022 to give students and parents and orientation and tour of the campus. More info to come!
AP Language: Socratic Seminar
Dr. Ali's AP Language students engaged in a Socratic Seminar where they held a rigorous discussion of Henrik Ibsen's play A Doll's House. Students actively participated in the discussion about the importance of respect, the relationship between love and sacrifice, and the reasons for the failure of marriages.

Ceramics 1
Mrs. Coffman's Ceramics 1 Classes created some amazing pieces of art this semester. Her talented students presented a variety of colorful ceramic creations.








Foods and Nutrition 2: Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo and Pumpkin Pie challenge
Mrs. Hansen's classes participated in two different cooking challenges recently. Challenge one focused on cooking and presenting Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo while the second challenge focused on presentation of Pumpkin Pie's. Our Norte Vista culinary expert judges critiqued and scored the student creations.

Construction Tech Academy Class
Mr. Ferguson's Construction Tech Academy Class engaged in a Marshmallow tower teambuilding activity. Students also reflected on important skills such as the necessity of teamwork, material strength, and overall design techniques.
