Why attend Latino College Preparatory Academy?
LCPA GOALS:
GOAL #1: Latino College Prep Academy (LCPA) will work to ensure equitable access to all students increasing proficiency in ELA and Math content standards. This allows LCPA to increase student graduation rates, A-G completion requirements, and establish a clear pathway for post-secondary achievement.
GOAL #2: Latino College Prep Academy (LCPA) students will have access to rigorous and relevant learning tools & resources taught by highly qualified teachers, a facility that is in good repair, and access to the curriculum in alignment with the Common Core State Standards while addressing the needs of the English Language Learner population.
GOAL #3 Latino College Prep Academy (LCPA) will cultivate a positive and welcoming school culture that promotes student learning in an academically and physically safe environment while maintaining a low suspension rate.

Meet our Eagle Warrior Champion...Mr. Cesar Herrera!
Mr. Herrera is a dedicated educator with strong family values. He has been an Eagle Warrior since 2007. He has a huge heart for his students, is very well organized, and takes his time assisting our students academically with learning the content he loves teaching. He currently teaches United States History and AP United States History to our juniors and serves as the Associated Student Body Advisor. Mr. Herrera guides our ASB Student Leaders with scheduling, planning, and executing our school assemblies and dances; including our most popular Vaquero Dance.

COVID Community Service Opportunity with Teen Safe Driving Campaign
Safety Center’s Teen to Teen Safe Driving Campaign program is back for the 2020-2021 school year, and we are going virtual!
This free program is an opportunity for LCPA high school juniors and seniors to create a campaign encouraging safe driving for our school community and help save lives. Safety Center provides the training and information teens need to create their own unique campaign and expand their leadership skills so that they can be successful in reaching the most members of their community. Enrollment for this program starts now. It’s as easy as filling out the attached form and emailing it back to teensafedriver@safetycenter.org by January 13, 2021.
What will you get?
- 5 LIVE Training Sessions facilitated by Safety Center Staff
○ Topics include: Making Safe Driving Decisions, Goal Setting, Crafting your Message, Creating your Action Plan, Civic Engagement, Getting the Word Out, and Measuring Impact.

Interested in the FBI Teen Academy? Save the Date: February 25th and 26th, from 3p.m. to 6p.m.
Our Teen Academy program allows high school juniors and seniors an opportunity to get a comprehensive look into today’s FBI. This year, our program will be held virtually over the course of two evening sessions, February 25th and 26th, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Students are provided with presentations on topics including terrorism, cybercrime, public corruption, evidence response, SWAT, and the day-to-day operations of a typical FBI office. Students also learn from special agents, intelligence analysts, language specialists, and professional staff about investigative tactics that include gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and assisting with cases. - Choose a distraction-free workspace and be mindful about keeping distractions to a minimum, remembering that everyone can see you.
- Make respectful comments, showing respect for all cultures, opinions, and viewpoints.
- THINK before posting, always using appropriate language in all electronic communications, including, email, social media posts, audio recordings, and/or video conferencing.
- If you would like to speak or answer a question, use the on-line class participation features (e.g., Raise Hand)
- Displaying or sharing material that is hate speech, sexually explicit, or violent will not be tolerated.
- Bullying in any form, including cyber bullying, will not be tolerated.
- Sending discriminatory or harassing digital communications will not be tolerated.
BE RESPONSIBLE
- Just as students are required to be on time and present at school, students are expected to be on time and virtually present via video and audio.

- Practicing cyber safety includes not making your profile public, not speaking to strangers, not sharing personal information, and not sharing your camera or photos.
- If you would like to use a chat feature, remember that it is public, and a record of the chat can be saved.
