Letter From The CEO:
Welcome to November!
Keep in mind that we have a couple of holiday closures during this month, so keep track of what day it is. We will be closed on Thursday, November 11, for Veterans Day, and both Thursday and Friday, November 25 and 26, for Thanksgiving. Also be aware there will be no Storytime the week of Thanksgiving.
The Friends of the Library Silent Auction kicks off on Friday, November 26! Bidding will happen online again this year, but if you want to see the Christmas trees available, those will be on display in the community room beginning Saturday, November 27. Bidding will continue until December 4.
Many thanks to those of you who participated in our First Annual Amateur Bake-Off on October 16. After much deliberation and many sample bites, Christine Pott was crowned the winner with her Chocolate Chunk Cookies. Many thanks to Neil Schaal and Rich Ellin from our local VFW Post 12189 for their service as this year’s Bake-Off judges and for their service to our country.
Our Compelling Issues Book Club will meet on November 16 at 1:30 and 6:30 to discuss Locked In: The True Causes of Mass Incarceration and How to Achieve Real Reform by John F. Pfaff. To participate in those discussions, please call or stop by the front desk to sign up. (Regular book club will meet next in December.)
For all our other events and exciting news this month, keep reading. And in this month where we reflect on all the things we’re grateful for, know that the library staff and board are grateful for our wonderful, engaged, and curious community.
Amie P.
Library CEO
